Street space is an important vector of urban traffic, as well as the composition of the street network unit, there is a complex interaction between urban form and urban street space and traffic, which can be promoted and conditioned by each other. From ancient times, the shaping and changes of urban form related to the street space closely, on the contrary, urban form also determines the scale and Openness of the street space, the harmonious relationship between the two above determines a city's development trend. Therefore urban form should adept to the street space in order to achieve the goal of sustainable development.This paper reviews the progress of urban form and street's cooperation development both in west counties and china, and sums up the interaction and relationship between street and urban form. And then propose integration as a means to meet the modern city as a system that is harmonious, orderly and efficient, and make an analysis preliminary from the tangible and intangible levels.This paper quoted the Space Syntax's theory, and analyzes its application; make an exploratory research on the relationship between urban form and street network. The paper takes Chengdu city as a classic case for when and lasted analysis, and then sums up the development characteristic of city. The preliminary conclusions can provide quantitative research methods for city constructions.As a emerging theory of urban form, Space Syntax can make a quantitative analysis.This paper study the formation and evolution process of business district in Chengdu from historical and contemporary perspective,and provide an example of application in Chinese cities.
