Recently, the design of the architecture is becoming more and more complex, thetraditional design pattern can’t satisfy the demand of architecture system anymore.Generally speaking, architecture is a complex system engineering involved ofconstruction professionals, the design of one engineering project is composed by fiveprofessionals, such as architecture, structure, electric, water supply and drainage andHVAC. It will make some errors in the process of information transmission between theprofessionals. And it will produce a lot of problems in implementation process thenaffect the outcome of the final design implementation. In addition, as more and morepipelines set up in the complex system, pipeline collisions and cross-cutting issuesoccurs often because of the error in the design. The conventional two-dimensionaldesign can’t fully meet the requirements to solve the problem of pipeline collisions andcross-cutting and information transmission problems in the collaborative design processof professionals. Therefore, it provides a new way to solve the problem by using three-dimensionalsimulation software to build a collaborative design platform. The designer of differentprofessionals constructed BIM model of building systems through the collaborativedesign platform. This paper based on multi-disciplinary collaborative design technologyto solve the problem of pipeline collisions and cross-cutting, and in this paper the authorbuilt BIM model, checked and modified the collisions and cross-cutting by usingAutodesk Revit software. This paper built BIM model by the collaborative design based on BIM technology, and took it as the main research direction. This paper analyzed and compared thefeatures of traditional two-dimensional design and multi-disciplinary collaborativedesign which based on BIM technology and chose the right software to completemulti-disciplinary collaborative design work. According to the situation, the designercan’t find pipeline collisions and cross-cutting issues easily by traditionaltwo-dimensional design, this paper took a new way to solve the problem by using Revitsoftware and Navisworks software. The main contents of this paper includes:(a) After analyzed on Bentley software, ArchiCAD software, three-dimensionalCAD software and Autodesk Revit software, this paper chose out the most right software. And this paper analyzed the development process, characteristics andapplicability of four kinds of software which were widely used. Took the capability ofcompleting multi-disciplinary collaborative design work as the basis, to solve theproblem of pipeline collisions and cross-cutting then chose out the most right softwareto build the BIM model.(b) Took a building as the research object, this paper built the BIM model by usingAutodesk Revit software. Firstly, this paper confirmed the mode of collaborative workwhich was based on Autodesk Revit software, then completed the works such ascreating the working set. Secondly, this paper used the Autodesk Revit software totranslate the two-dimensional design parameters into the three-dimensional designparameters. Finally, this paper built the BIM model of the building, including structuralwalls, columns and beams. The BIM model of the building provided architecturalsupport to build the pipeline drainage professional model, and provide reference forspatial relationship of the content and construction of the main pipeline.(c) The BIM model of the pipeline was constructed by Autodesk Revit MEPsoftware. Through multi-professional collaborative design platform, it can link thebuilding BIM model to Revit MEP software. This paper inspected the collisions exist inpipeline, structure and building by using Revit software and Navisworks software. Inthis paper, it used parameter-driven features of the software to generate detailedstatistical material materials and though simulating construction guide the process ofconstruction in reality.
