Home ownership is the foundation of a harmonious society, but with the rapid development of urbanization and prosperity of the economy and culture, urban population growth, scarcity of land resources, urban housing prices rose year after year, reducing the majority of low-income persons housing affordability.In this paper, the construction of public rental housing for the study in Changchun, trying to explore a development path in line with our special public rental of a basic national conditions. Changchun is located in the northeastern part of our country, is a cold region, special climatic conditions, different regional customs and habits of the locals living life, making people living on the space requirements there are special requirements. Therefore, this paper considering various factors, on the status of construction of public rental home and abroad throughout the research, analysis of public rental housing in the presence of living space limitations, and learn from foreign experience in the construction of affordable housing and the design of public housing in Hong Kong experience, and summarized the principles and strategies of public rental housing in the design of living space, trying in Changchun and even renting a nationwide public space design, play a role of inspiration and reference, that is life and psychological needs of the occupants as a starting point, we continue to meet people’s living space comfort and livability pursuit, trying to create a more humane living space, to improve the "sandwich class" residential quality while exploring a universal one with strong The public rental development, in order to promote China’s affordable housing system efficient and rational development.
