With the rapid development of national economy in recent years, the demand for express freight transport is increasing rapidly, and the market also puts forward higher requirements for convenience, safety and reliability of the freight transport service. However, during the highly development process, the express freight transport has come up with some troubles such as low transfer efficiency and serious damage of the goods. These troubles greatly curbed the development of express freight transport. In this background, this thesis studies the research on optimization of express freight transport service network design in containerization mode.Based on a large number of literatures, some basic theories on express freight transport service network are introduced. Firstly, the thesis clears the relationship between logistics network and service network, then rises the concept of express freight transport service network and analysis its features; when introducing the method of constructing express freight transport service network, this thesis analysis the structure of express freight transport service network first and comes to the conclusion that the hub-and-spoke network suits the express freight transport service network better than the direct network. Then the method of constructing express freight transport service network based on the split of the nodes is given. Next, the thesis clears the target and content of the optimization of express freight transport service network and analysis the effect of express freight transport service network in containerization mode.Then, the mode of optimization of express freight transport service network in containerization mode is constructed. It is important to focus on the effect to the transport capacity of the containerization equipment’s own weight and the transfer capacity as well as the breakage of the goods in containerization mode. In order to make the comparison easy, a bulk mode express freight transport service network optimization design model is also given.When solving the model, the harmony search algorithm is used first. The steps of the harmony search algorithm include the initialization of the parameters, the initialization of the harmony memory, the construction of the new harmony and the update of the harmony memory. In order to verify the accuracy of the result, the Lingo algorithm is also given. Finally in the example, the thesis verifies the effectiveness of the model and the algorithm.
