In recent years, traffic accidents have attracted much attention, especially at unsignalized intersections. Because there is no traffic signal control, intersection sight distance at unsignalized intersections has become the important factor to affect drivers’ vision judgment. Thus, vehicle-vehicle accidents often occurred for drivers’ EEG-behavior features affected by intersection sight distance after the emergent incidents happened. Based on the background above, the purpose of this paper is to research the associated characteristics of EEG, driving behavior and accidents during the process of emergent collision avoidance by using driving simulator and neuroscan. It is of great significance to improve intersection traffic safety and establish accident risk early warning mechanism. This paper was selected from the National Natural Fund. Firstly, based on intersection traffic safety factors, drivers’information processing during the emergent collision avoidance was deeply analyzed, and then the associated mechanism between EEG and driving behavior was established under the condition of different sight distance, thus the EEG-behavior features analyses were carried on. Secondly, the experimental method is to establish emergent collision avoidance driving scenarios at unsignalized intersections with a high-fidelity driving simulator, and to gather the original data of EEG and driving behaviors during the driving process. Finally, it’s important to study the drivers’EEG-behavior characteristics in the process of collision avoidance and the interaction relationship between these factors by using linear mixed effects model, Logistic regression, linear regression and correlation analysis method, and the key point is to set up the risk accident predition method. The result found that with the increment of intersection sight distance, drivers’delta, theta power spectral density were growing up but with beta energy dcreasing when closing to the conflict area, their brain state has changed from attention concentrated to relax and confortable condition. Better intersection sight distance was associated with significant reductions in brake reaction time, deceleration rate, and crash rate, thus leading to a lower risk of traffic crash involvement. It is also found that there is significant relationship between EEG and initial instantaneous speed, braking reaction time, start braking point and average deceleration. The most important is that the accuracy rate of predicting collisions is highest for driving behavior-prediction, which is slightly higher than EEG-predition and EEG-driving behavior-predition.
