With the rapid development of the national economy, the demand of turning centers and turn-milling combined machining tools centers is rapidly growing in automobiles, shipbuilding, aviation, electric power and other industrial departments. The CNC turret is an important function part of CNC machine tools, and its performance directly affects the accuracy and efficiency of CNC machine tools. For high-speed, high-precision power servo turret, the study to its transmission system and access to an effective way to improve the turret turning positioning accuracy and reduce the transmission noise and vibration has important theoretical significance and practical value.This paper is associated with Key National Science&Technology Special Project on "High-Grade CNC Machine Tools and Basic Manufacturing Equipments"-"dynamic reliability and reliability sensitivity of the power servo turret design and test technology", and it presents a research on a power servo turret made by Shenyang Machine Tool Group, it’s mainly about the gears transmission performance of power transmission system in the turret to look for the best gear profile modification and achieve the goal of improving the gear transmission performance and enhance gear strength, the main works as follows:(1) Based on the theory of elastic mechanics, the thesis figures out the gear tooth deformation and integrated deformation at different positions on the line of action when a single pair of tooth is meshing, and on this basis, the meshing stiffness and the load distribution between gear tooth pairs in the actual gear meshing process is figured out according to the gear meshing theory.(2) With the use of ANSYS Parameter Design Language, the exact finite element model of gears is built, and the contact analysis in gears meshing process is carried out, then by analyzing the results, obtain integrated deformations, the load distribution between gear tooth pairs, the change of contact press and the change of the static transmission error in the gear meshing process, on the one hand to validate the correctness of the finite element method by comparison of the elastic mechanics calculation results, on the other hand to analysis that the transmission performance in the gear meshing process need to be improved.(3) Under different profile modification and different amount of modification, go on the work of gear profile modification, and then determine the best modification program by the comparison with the affects to transmission performance, at last indicate that the profile modification improves the transmission performance and the strength of gears.
