The21st century is the development and utilization of underground space of the century, all the countries value the development and utilization of underground space more and more, and underground construction machine is also rapid development. TBM as a major underground construction equipment has been widely used in various types of city subways, highway tunnels, crossing the river tunnels and urban water supply and drainage system construction. As the core function component of TBM, segment erector and cutter have important effect on the whole underground construction. Therefore, good performance of the segment erector and cutter is very important.In this paper, research and analysis segment erector and cutter based on3.2m multi-function testing machine of Shenyang North Heavy Industry Group TBM State Key Laboratory. In this paper, the main results of research as follows:(1) Firstly, elaborated the research background of this project, then introduced the type, structure and working principle of TBM, and highlighted introduce the segment erector and cutter type, structure and working principle and reserch situition in our nation and on adroad.(2) Introduced the concept of virtual prototyping technology, the development process and technical characteristics and and application. Then introduced multi-body system dynamics theory which is the core theory of virtual prototyping technology, and briefly introduced the system dynamics software ADAMS which is widely used in engineering. Finally, introduced the theory of finite element method and finite element software ANSYS.(3) Briefly introduced the structure, working principle and main technical parameters of segment erector and cutter of the3.2m diameter TBM, and bulid and assembled the segment erector and cutter entity model based on three-dimensional modeling software Pro/E.(4) Performed the kinematics and dynamics simulation on the segment erector and cutter by ADAMS, and get the subjects of various components and the dynamics characteristics of drives and the forces of each part, and designed hydraulic cylinder of Fine-tune mechanism. Got loads of parts to provide a boundary condition for strength check.(5) Performed the structural static analysis on segment erector by ANSYS, analyze the stress state and deformation, and find out the weak area of the segment erector, and check strength and stiffness. Performed the contact analysis on contact gears, analysis tooth face and tooth root stress and check it. Performed the structural static analysis on cutter, analyze the stress state and deformation, and find out the weak area of the cutter, and check strength and stiffness. Through modal ansalysis of the cutter, got the natural frequency and vibration of the cutter, found the vibration weak area, revealed dynamics characteristics of different frequencies of the cutter. Through reliability analysis of the cutter, analyze failure probability of the cutter under uncertain factors influence.
