Hydro turbine generator set is an important unit to convert water energy to electricalenergy, which served as adjusting peak, frequency in the power grid. With userrequirements to improve power quality, adjust and control performance of hydro grouphas attracted much attention.This article first describes the turbine regulating system structure and workprocesses, researches the working principle of the turbine regulating system. Byanalyzing the static and dynamic characteristics of turbine regulation system, turbineregulating system mathematical model has been built.Based on the transfer function in a stable condition of operating point, usingMATLAB/SIMULINK simulation software, governor module, mechanical hydraulicsystem modules, turbines and pressure water system module have been established.According to the relationship between the transfer function, all modules is able to becombined. Through different positions and combinations of switches, turbine regulatingsystem can do different simulation test in different conditions.According to the simulation model, this article performed no-load frequencydisturbance test and load disturbance test, and analyzed the proportional gain, integralgain, differential gain on system stability. By selecting different parameters, the paperqualitatively analyzed the effects of the dynamic characteristics of the controlled objectparameters and governor parameters. In the microcomputer governor research, throughselecting four factors and three different levels, the results of orthogonal test wasobtained. The findings indicates that a group of optimal parameter values can get bettervalue than the stein recommended Parameters dynamic response results and consistentwith the actual parameters.
