Research On Functional Layout Of Drop-and-pull Transport Station In Coastal Ports

As an advanced form of freight organizations, drop-and-pull transport has a important significance for reducing the turnaround costs of logistics, promoting modern logistics and developing integrated transport, encouraging energy conservation and environmental protection, and eventually achieving a low-carbon sustainable development. As early as the1940s, drop-and-pull transport has been applied in western countries, the intermodal transport consisting of truck, trailer and semi-trailer has accounted for70%to80%of the total transport volume in developed country.With the rapid development of China’s economy, accordingly drop-and-pull transport has begun to attract the attention of the transport industry. After the national authorities issued a series of policies to promote the drop-and-pull transport, the concept of drop-and-pull has been accepted by society, the pilot job also has been successfully launched in coastal areas, and now it is used in many coastal ports and freight companies. However, as a relatively mature mode of transport, there are some challenges of promotion in drop-and-pull transport. Nowadays our country not only still lacks the truck and trailer, but also lacks the matchable specialized logistics system, theoretical researches are relatively limited, and it is always attract more attentions on macro researches such as concept of drop-and-pull transport, construction of systems and development prospects, yet there is little attentions on microcosmic quantitative researches such as the construction scale and function layout of drop-and-pull transport station and so on.Based on existing research, through analyzing the current development of domestic and foreign transportation, this paper proposes organizational models and basic production process about drop-and-pull transport station in coastal ports. Meanwhile, combined with drop-and-pull transport market analysis and demand forecast, this paper divided the internal functions layout of the station and calculated on the scale of core functional areas and thereby determining the total scale of station. Finally, from the perspective of transport operations of the station, this paper optimized the function layout of station by the simulation software. From all above, this research provided reference and theoretical support for the construction and promotion of the drop-and-pull transport station.
