Transmission is one of the core components of automotive powertrain. The performance of its transmission property has an important influence on the property of the vehicle. As the control technology and micro-electronic technology matures, automatic transmission is used widely in the car. Dual Clutch Transmission came into being under this background, it has compact structure, high efficiency and no interruption of power during shifting process, etc. The ideas of the research and designation in this paper come from Dual Clutch Transmission gearbox, which has very important significance to promote the development of our domestic transmission technology.Based on the virtual prototyping technology in the application of transmission design and invention, using virtual prototyping technology can shorten the time of the development cycle, find shortages or errors of the design rapidly, and the results can provide the theoretical basis for prototyping trial-manufacture.In this paper, the research of the transmission mainly includes the following:(1) Relating the structural characteristics and working principles of the newly Dual Clutch Transmission, and illustrates in detail the selection of the parameters of the transmission ratio and transmission parts.(2) Creating accurately the virtual prototyping model on its transmission mechanism by using the Romax Designer modeling module of the software itself.(3) Using Romax Designer software analysis module to analyze each of the gear operation process in the simulative actual working conditions, and then concluding the fatigue life of the various gear transmission parts and strength conditions.(4) Aiming at the great bearing load of the main reduction gear in the transmission system and the big deviation when transmits. Optimizing the gear tooth profile of the loaded gear tooth surface in order to lower the bearing load of the gear tooth per unit length and the transmission deviation by using Romax Designer software optimization functions.
