Transmission is one of the three core auto parts, its quality plays a crucial role in all aspects of vehicle like operational convenience, riding comfort and other performance. With the development of technology, the traditional manual gearbox cannot meet the needs of people, especially in the passenger car. AMT, CVT, DCT such a series of products have emerged. As a result of the automobile industry in our country started later, there are a large gap in core automotive parts compared with the West.Given the domestic situation, many automobile enterpsises chose DCT as a focus.Based on the experiences from developed countries, using virtual prototyping and finite element analysis technology in the process can contribute to the problem solving and shorten the product development cycle. This paper mainly includes the following aspects on the dual clutch transmission:(1)Introduce the structure characteristic of dual clutch transmission and working principle, explain the calculation basis of transmission key parameters such as gear ratios¢er distance,provides a typical example for transmission designer.(2)Create a virtual prototype model of dual clutch gearbox transmission mechanism with Romax Designer, and complete the load spectrum, power flow and other content settings according to the actual conditions.(3)Finish analysis of the gearbox vibration source, carry on quantitative analysis with the virtual prototype model, and explain the necessity of gear micro modification in reducing the transmission error and improving the meshing performance.(4)Finish the micro gear tooth modification, and make a comparative analysis by before and after modification model in transmission error, root and tooth surface stresses, the gear performance of all aspects have been greatly improved according to the results, and verified the necessity of the micro modification to the heavy load gear.(5) Finish the modal analysis to the transmission system, find out the maximum flexibility in the first eight order mode, and analyzes the bearing dynamic response,Providing accurate guidance for the optimization of the prototype model.
