The plate gate is one kind of gate the most early and widely steel gate applied in water power engineering. Its structure is simple and manufactures, installation, maintenance is convenient with the advantages of interchangeability. And it was widely used in water conservancy and hydropower engineering drainage system, water diversion power generation systems, irrigation, shipping system and so on. At present the utilization of water resources is low and agricultural water especially in canal irrigation district is serious, the main reason is that there is no measurement function of the gate. Therefore the two products, SlipGate、FlumeGate,was introduced from Australia in the "948" program funded by Ministry of Water Resources of Yuncheng in Shanxi Provinces. So the domestic first demonstration site was established in Ningxia Province Qingtongxia Irrigation district south lateral canal. But this series of products are expensive, installation condition is harsh, it is difficult for a wide range of promotion.The new kind of measurement plate gate was calculated with the finite element analysis software ANSYS. The products meet the features of simple structure; internal filling aluminum honeycomb panel structure and frame building adopt aluminum alloy material to alleviate the overall weight of the gate. In this paper, the parameterized model of plate gate was built by ANSYS finite element software, the thickness of the gate size of longitudinal reinforcement and transverse reinforcement spacing and aluminum alloy sheet, border was selected as key parameters. By placing constraints on the model and static water pressure the static analysis was established on the gate. Under the premise that ensure the strength and stiffness to achieve quality of plate gate is minimized, the relationship was founded between the structure parameters and overall performance by theoretical analysis, the optimization of structure parameters.In this paper mathematics relation has been built between total quality gate and the thickness of the gate size of longitudinal reinforcement and transverse reinforcement spacing and aluminum alloy sheet, border. The gate stiffness was obtained curve along with the change of structural parameters under different conditions through corresponding program with the APDL language of ANSYS parameter for calculation engineering examples. The rationality of the parameterized mode was ensure by the combination of theoretical research and simulation analysis theory of verification. The optimization results have been obtained through using the function approximation method for structural optimization, and it is constructive for the next generation series gate design.
