ABSTRACT:To enrich the traditional overrunning clutch types and to make the clutch applicable to vehicle transmission system requirements, a novel overrunning clutch is designed. It is designed with multimodal fuction. Through theoretical analysis, simulation and experimental method, the vibration modal properities, multimodal function,dynamic performance and the control scheme of this clutch are reserched.The main research contents are as follows:(1)To reform the traditional overrunning clutch to be controllable, a novel overrunning clutch is designed. The motion process of novel overrunning clutch’s engagement and disengagement is analyzed and the preloaded spring’s effect is identified. The self-locking principles of the contact parts, normal pressure and contact stress are analyzed. The contact stress is checked and the main structure size parameters of the the clutch are preliminarily determined.(2)According to the designed parameters of clutch, the geometric model of overrunning clutch’s parts are built based on3d software SolidEge and the parts are assembled to be analyzed. To study the contact properties of the clutch, the maximum deformation, contact stress and sliding distance of contact area are calculated by the ANSYS Workbench. According to the setted condition, the clutch is verified to meet the requirement of contact strength. The different contact friction coefficient’s effect on the clutch contact properities is analyzed and an improved solution is put forward.(3)To study the vibration properities of the novel clutch, the clutch’s modal properities is analyzed by ANSYS Workbench.The first six order modal natural frequencies and corresponding vibration modes are calculated. According to the calculated results, it is verified that the clutch critical speed of rotation is below the designed speed. The effects of the radial bearing stiffness and axial bearing stiffness to the modal properities of the clutch are researched.(4) According to the structure characteristics of this novel overrunning clutch, the mechanical system of clutch test bench is designed. According to the test requirements, the control and data acquisition system is designed. The test circuit is connected, and PC test program is written. In the low speed range, the engagement and the disengagement time parameters of the clutch are tested and collected. Experiment result is verified that the design function of overrunning clutch is correct.(5)ADAMS software is used as the simulation platform, a dynamic model of the clutch is established. The engagement and disengagement process of clutch is simulated under the conditions of its practical application. It is analyzed that different contact friction coefficient’s effect on the clutch engagement time. A clutch controllable device is introduced. Through the ADAMS and MATLAB co-simulation software platform, the control execution process is simulated, then the feasibility of the control device is verified.
