| All of the buildings at the risk of fire anytime, and it’s random about the time fire occurred and the losses caused by fire, we must have full understanding of the building’s fire risk in order to do the work of building’s fire safety effectively. Fire risk evaluation evaluates the fire risk of building’s system by grading, rating value, index value and other methods based on the analysis of fire safety. The purpose of which is according to the result of evaluation to adjust fire control facilities and constructions, strengthen weak links and eliminate fire hazards, reduce the accident probability and the degree of fire danger, so we can make the system achieve the best state of fire safety when meet the premise of economic and social benefits. Fire risk evaluation has been studied and applied by more and more fire practitioners with the growing of large-scale public buildings. After years of development, the United States and Europe have formed a variety of systematic building fire risk assessment methodology, and which has been well validated and application in the actual project. Our research in the field of fire risk evaluation started later, Although we has made some progress and development by learning and exchange with foreign in recent years, there is not a rational, systematic and widespread use method in fire risk evaluation. We will contrast and analysis the 《Code of design fire protection and prevention》 (GB50016—2014) in China and NFPA 101 《Life Safety Code》(2006 Edition) which formulated by the National Fire Protection Association in this paper, and summarizing the differences in fire protection and prevention in commercial occupancies between these two codes. At the same time, In order to determine the applicability and superiority of the fire safety evaluation system for business occupancies in NFPA 101A in domestic commercial occupancies, we will evaluate the fire risk of a commerial building which has met the 《Code of design fire protection and prevention》 in China by using the fire safety evaluation system for business occupancies in NFPA 101A 《Guide on Alternative Approaches to Life Safety》(2011 Edition), and making some recommendations for the lack of domestic code in fire protection and prevention which has refleced by the results of the evaluation. |
