Research On The Fire Protection And Fire Escape Design Of Large-scale Commercial Buildings

With the development of economy and construction technology in China, a mountof multi-functional, structure-complex and large-scale modern commercial buildinghave been constructed. At the same time, the fire hazards also boosted, fire damage ismore serious. The new characteristics of modern commercial building bring moredifficulties to the building’s fire prevention and safe evacuation design. The currentstandard design terms also can not adapt the modern design requirements. In addition tothe current code for modern commercial building fire protection, the fire preventiondesign also need to performance-based fire protection design combined with new ideasto perfect. Therefore, this article the combined with engineering case is expounded,mainly from the following points discussed:1. It introduces the development of large commercial building and its owncharacteristics in China. Through the example in recent years some large commercialfire example personnel and property loss situation, analyses the commercial buildingfire the consequences and harm of the fire.2. It analyzes the characteristics of the commercial building Fire hazards, the businessinternal personnel evacuation and personnel evacuation process in facing the negativefactors.3. It expounds the content of the fire prevention design specification now.4. It introduces the concept and development present situation of the fire preventionperformance-based design, the design procedure and content. This article analyses thetraditional building fire protection design method and the performance-basedfire-protection design difference of method, and the superiority of theperformance-based design.5. It goes on to discuss the application of present fire protection design method basedon existed regulations by using a typical commercial building project as example.Finally through engineering examples of performance-based fire protectionanalysis process, And it suggests that, given the condition of performance-base fireprotection design not fully developed, a combination of prescriptive method andperformance-base method should be used while the priority given to the former.
