The purposes of this research were to employ ETABS Program to analyze and design a six-storey steel structure building for primary and secondary schools in northern part of Thailand in risk areas of Zone 2B. The instruments employed were three seismic standards:Chinese-2002, UBC 1994, and DPT 1302. The Response Spectrum Method was used for structural analysis while the LRFD was employed for steel structure design. The soil on construction site is of hard type. Through the employment of these instruments, it was found that each seismic standard provided similar results, and the building structure is able to resist seismic waves due to the regulations and the standards employed. |
