With the depth promotion of the smart grid, information collection system of electricity consumption as an infrastructure service application system in intelligent electricity power system plays a major role in ensuring the safe operation of power and achieving the orderly use of electricity. Information collection system includes the master station, channel, concentrators, collection, meter and so on. In order to achieve the communication connection of end-to-meter, the power line carrier, RS-485 and micro-power wireless networks can be chosed as local channels. At the moment, the master station in the main meter reading mode flooding can not measure the specified electricity meter, such as electricity meter data, abnormal event information, remote software updating, etc. In this paper, multicast and broadcast capabilities of main node to the child node with specified IPv6 addresses are achieved at the Contiki simulation platform, which can be applied to control the electricity meter in the information collection system.In this paper, the hardware and software were designed based on the IPv6 wireless sensor module, including structural design, interface design, data structure design and operation design of built-in wireless communication concentrator module. This micro-power wireless communication module was supported by 802.15.4g in the physical layer and link layer, which employ frequency band of national civil radio measurement instrument (470-510MHz). By analyzing the routing protocol of Low-Power and Lossy Networks, this paper proposed multicast routing algorithm by adding redundant tree in RPL routing protocol, which achieved the simulation of algorithm parameters and built a 29-node network system. Finally, adopting the RPL multicast routing protocol algorithm in meter reading can improve the shortage of radio meter reading and achieve the control of end-to-end.
