Screw tightening device has been widely used in factories, workshops and other various mechanical processing places. Therefore, the development of our tightening device technology has great significance for the development of mechanical design. But in the larger tightening torque, the conventional pneumatic or electric wrench is not up to the requirements, and may even cause the harm to the human body or damage to the workpiece. Therefore, the development of a large torque screw tightening device is very necessary. This paper designed a large torque screw tightening device, mainly composed of a worm gear reducer and a planetary gear reducer. Firstly, according to the final output torque is greater than 10 KN·m, selecting the motor is Y160M-4, determining the transmission ratio, the worm and gear′s number of teeth and the modulus. Then, using SolidWorks modeling software for modeling, and checking for interference.Further, making strength analysis for the core components of screwing device──the planetary gear reducer, to get the tooth face contact stress and tooth root bending stress′s theory values and finite element simulation values. The planetary frame, the output shaft and other key components are also analyzed with finite element strength, strength meet the design requirements. Finally, in order to make the tightening device can accurately align the parts in the work, this paper describes the design of a lifting device, and modeling and making a strength analysis.Through theoretical analysis and finite element strength analysis, and verified the structure design of large torque tightening device is validated, the device can output to the specified torque, meet the design requirements, and has certain practical value.
