Traditional fuel vehicle has brought great convenience to people’s daily life and communication, but also consumed a lot of fuel, emit large quantities of exhaust gas which makes the energy crisis and air pollution aggravate and affect people’s healthy living. In order to keep the sustainable development of the auto industry, we must study a kind of environmental protection and clean electric vehicle under of the double pressures in energy and environmental problems. However the fast-charge problem has inhibited the development of electric vehicle. The main content of this paper is research of intelligent charging system for electric vehicle.This paper takes Suzhou applied basic research project(industrial) as the backing. By using the modern high frequency switching power supply technology, PWM pulse control technology and the ARM processor researched the smart charging system of electric vehicle. The main research contents are as follows:(1) First this paper discussed the domestic and foreign research status of electric vehicle charging system and expounds the common electric vehicle battery performance, charging and discharging characteristics, charging method and control technology. We get the positive and negative pulse charging method in phases by analysis the traditional methods and conventional fast charging methods. And the negative pulse can effectively eliminate the polarization phenomenon in the process of charging. The main charging circuit was designed with the high frequency switch IGBT. Analyzed the design method and working principle of rectifier, filter and pulse width modulation circuit in detail.(2) Designed a battery detection circuit to monitor the state of the battery in real-time. According to the actual state of the charging to select the appropriate charging parameters can effectively avoid the occurrence of overcharging.(3) Designed the PC management system to monitor the state of charging system by the Lab VIEW. In the end the charging data will be saved to the database.Finally, the paper simulated the main charging circuit of the charging system and debugged the PC management system through simulate the charging parameters. According to the results of simulation and debugging, the charging system preferably reached the expected design requirements. The research of intelligent charging system has a certain role in promoting on the development of electric vehicle.
