Coal is the primary energy of non-renewable national resources. Energy conservation is a long-term policy of our country. Thermal power plant with coal production is also the important power of enterprise, in the power structure of China’s thermal power installed capacity of enterprises. The total installed generating capacity accounts for more than 74%, China’s total generating capacity of 80%. So energy-saving work of thermal power plants has gradually become the focus of attention of the electric power enterprise.Application of pump and fan in thermal power plant is very extensive. Its power consumption accounted for the vast majority of electrical fire power plants. They are generally based on the maximum load selection of possible criteria to develop. When the actual production process, due to thermal power plants also need to bear the power peaking task, the unit rarely full load to regulate the operation, so that the flow on the throttle valve pump and fan, and the power of the motor is basically unchanged, resulting in great waste.Frequency control of pump and fan using high voltage frequency converter, and the motor power changes with the load change, reduce the throttle valve and the energy loss, thus improving the economy, system operation to save energy, reduce the consumption rate in thermal power plant. This paper mainly introduced XuanCheng induced draft fan of power plant and equipment selection, the condensate pump frequency conversion scheme, and the energy saving effect of frequency converter is analyzed. The significant effect of frequency conversion technology in saving energy and reducing consumption in thermal power plant, the frequency conversion power auxiliary equipment, has a certain reference value.
