With the rapid development of science and technology and the increase of people’s living standard, people have high requirements for life quality and living environment. Especially on account of the rapid development of computers and network technology, various home devices are evolving towards the direction of networking, digitization and intelligence, therefore smart home devices gradually become a hot topic of the research. Smart home gateway as the core of intelligent home system is mainly responsible for the data exchange between the external network and internal one of the smart home. Owing to the smart home gateway, the smart home system has achieved the functions of information collection, information output, information input, remote monitoring, remote control and so on, which provide people with a diversified, comfortable, convenient, fast and efficient intelligent life.On the basis of the understanding of the existing research and development of smart home gateways at home and abroad and the functional requirements of gateways, this thesis aims at designing a smart home gateway with simple structure and low cost, completing its software and hardware design and then verifying the feasibility of the design by testing, which all rely on connecting wireless communication networks based on the ZigBee protocol with the Ethernet based on TCP/IP protocol. On the hardware, it adopts STM32F103 microprocessor whose core is ARM Context-M3 as the main control chip, ENC28J60 as Ethernet controller chip, and CC2530 as ZigBee wireless communication chips, together with the necessary interface circuit and peripheral circuit to build a gateway hardware platform of smart home, which will design and analyze the parameters and performances of all circuits on the platform. As for the software, it firstly proposes the software platform of smart home gateway based on μTenux embedded operating system, and completes the transplantation of μTenux embedded operating system. Secondly, it has completed the transplantation of a lightweight TCP/IP protocol stack of LwIP, based on μTenux and program design of ZigBee ZigBee coordinator node and terminal node. Finally, it sets up a HTTP server of the smart home gateway and designs corresponding web interface, including the login page, the monitoring interface of indoor temperature and the control interface of indoor home.After completing the design of software and hardware, the relevant experimental tests for transplantation of μTenux operating system, LwIP transplantation, ZigBee-Ethernet protocol conversion and Web interface monitoring are conducted in this thesis. After the tests, the smart home gateway in the thesis can satisfy the needs of smart home and conduct remote monitoring and control of the smart home devices.
