The rapid development of intelligent substation brought a series of innovations, including the intellectualization of control terminals, the nearby installation, etc. However, these changes have led to the secondary system of electronic devices increasingly close to the primary system, which must face to more complex and harsh electromagnetic environment. However, the conventional detecting apparatus is defective in performance and functionality, which make it difficult to achieve the purpose. In order to study on the transient magnetic interference in substation, my project has developed a hand-held transient magnetic field recorder and its software system, and the work done in this article focus on the design and implementation of digital and software system of the instrumentation. The development of software systems based on the hardware platform which has the ARM + FPGA architecture, and it has the capability to carry out the measuring, recording, display and analysis aimed at 10 Hz ~ 5MHz magnetic field. Magnetic pulse transient response experiments showed that the recorder have the ability to field test. In summary, the main contents are as follows:1. This paper studies the characteristics of electromagnetic interference in substation, and establishes the transient magnetic field measurement scheme. In addition, the paper also analyzes the quantitative principle of interference which is brought to the second system equipment by transient magnetic field;2. On the hardware platform, digital logic design tools and simulation software such as Matlab are used to design the digital system modules, including acquisition and bandwidth control module, DDR2 cache and waveform processing module, trigger and GPS control module, system control module. Meanwhile, static timing analysis tool is used to impose constraints on the critical path, ensuring the stability of the system frequency performance.3. The embedded software part of the instrument is developed on the dual ARM microprocessor systems. Contents of the software include: peripheral configuration and the underlying drivers, digital process control system, real-time waveform measurement and display, SD card storage and read-back function modules; Besides, the software also implements transient magnetic interference interference calculation.4. After the development of the software has been accomplished, an experiment about transient magnetic pulse is implemented, and the result proves that this instrument can grasp transient magnetic field pulses, and it can be applied to measure the substation site.
