Embedded system technology is currently one of the fastest growing, the most promising technology.This paper introduces a voice communications system based on the embedded technology which can achieve real time voice communications.In this paper, it designs an ARM-Based voice communications system, and Buildings Talkback system as an example. The system is in order to achieve the dial-up, access, voice call, feedback the status, control process calls, control voice transmission and other functions between any of two equipment(ARM-Based)which are connected.The whole system includes three levels: the hardware, the operating system, and the applications. The hardware uses the ARM7 develop kit which the chip model is S3C44B0 X. The operating system uses uClinux, and develops the sound card drivers in for the applications. The application is in order to achieve the functions such as human-computer interaction, process control, voice signal transmission, both-side signal sync and so on.This paper details analysis and designs the human-computer interaction and process control, using multi-process to achieve the function, at the same time, using the signal and mutually exclusive lock to achieve the communication and the sync between each process.The test verified the feasibility and the practicability of the design principle of the system, The results meet the basic requirements, so the scheme is correct.
