Pneumatic technology is applied in more and more automatic control fields because of its several advantages, such as high output, its working medium is very clean, energy saving, low cost, etc. Industrial automation technology is undergoing some tremendous changes because of the wireless communication technology’s development. Pneumatic technology is also facing the impact of the introduction of wireless communication technology because of its extensive application in automatic production field. Wireless sensor network is the foundation to realize the wireless communication of pneumatic system. Power supply issues of its node need to be solved at present. Wireless Power Transmission (WPT) Technology is a good way to solve this problem, so as to prolong the lifetime of wireless sensor network.WPT has become one of the most active research directions in current because of its broad application prospect in engineering. According to the transmission distance wireless power transmission technology can be mainly divided into three categories:the inductive coupling WPT, magnetically-coupled resonant WPT and microwave WPT.As a mid-range wireless power transmission technology, WPT, Magnetically-Coupled Resonant WPT (MCR-WPT) can provide fast, convenient and safe energy supply. In MCR-WPT systems, the performance of the resonator plays a decisive role on the transmission efficiency. Because the electric energy’s wireless transmission is through the coupled sending and receiving resonators in the near field, and this coupling is caused by the resonance. For most of the resonators, transmission efficiency will plummet quickly when the transmission distance is more than the diameter. In order to improve the transmission distance, this paper proposes a new plane resonator based on the coaxial cable. The novel coaxial cable resonator’s structure is brief and easy to make by hand. It doesn’t need lumped capacitance, thus can reduce the loss. When the distance is two times of the resonator’s diameter, its transmission efficiency is still above 40%. The Ansoft software, HFSS is used in the simulation of the resonance frequency and efficiency. Finally the novel resonator is used for carrying out the experiment. The simulation results are consistent well with test results.In this article, we designed a WPT system which can transfer 24W electric energy under the distance of 30 centimeters, whose transmission efficiency is 43.64%, and its power-supply efficiency is 46.2%. The total efficiency of the system is 20.17%. Finally, we did several experiments about the directional characteristics, load characteristics and so on. We have made contribute to improve the efficiency of wireless power supply system.
