In contemporary road project, due to the good performance of asphalt pavement, it is more and more important. With the continuous development of transport, the requirements of the pavement performance are also increasing. When the traditional asphalt’s performance can not adapt to the new traffic pression, the importance of the modified asphalt becoming prominent. At present, there are many types of modifiers, but each product has different defective. So the need of new and better modifier is important. This study want to introduce a new material which never used in the pavement engineering.This study make the plasticized acetyl TBC(ATBC plasticizer) which used in plastic products as the potential new modifiers of asphalt. Compareing the performances between modified asphalt with ATBC plasticizers and the raw asphalt to evaluate whether it can be used as a new type modifier.The main topic to explore the performance of the ATBC plasticizer by the study of the asphalt binder and the asphalt mixtures. The evaluation of the product’s modification effect on asphalt binder mainly by conventional asphalt binder test(three indicators of the asphalt, Brookfield viscosity, etc.), we can analyzed the test results from four aspects of the asphalt binder, the high temperature performance, the low temperature performance, the temperature sensitivity, and the viscosity of asphalt bider. The evaluation of the product’s modification effect on asphalt mixtures mainly by asphalt mixtures test(rutting test, bending test, etc.), we can analyzed the test results from three aspects of the asphalt mixtures, the asphalt mixtures temperature stability, the asphalt mixtures low temperature crack resistance and water stability.According to the experimental analysis, found that the product has the good effect on low temperature performance, aging resistance, thermal resistance can also get a small improvement, but the high temperature performance of the asphalt will be adversely affected. Corresponding to the above conclusion, in conjunction with other relevant research, the impact of the product on the asphalt mechanism analysis.Through this research, it has a good low-temperature modification capability and can be used in conjunction with other modifiers for asphalt composite modified to compensate for its lack of high-temperature performance, combined with its non-toxic and environmentally friendly features, used in there are special requirements for roads.
