Road or bridge is easy to be covered with snow and ice in the low temperature environment, affecting the traffic capacity and traffic safety. At the moment, there are a variety of methods to solve this problem, such as pouring salt, artificial(or mechanical) removing snow and so on. These methods do have played a certain effect. However, these methods need a lot of human, material and financial resources, and it usually has some delay when clearing snow and ice. Heating cable-heating method can solve the problem better. Although some studies have been carried out in this area, the application of it is relatively small, so it is necessary to carry on further research. By doing this, the theory of heating cable heating method in the area of road melting and ice can be improved and it can promote its application in the field of road melting and ice snow.Considering of the heating cable heating system has the advantages of no pollution, low operating cost, good thermal stability, convenient control and other advantages, this paper decides to use the built-in carbon fiber heating cable to melt the snow on the bridge. When the snow is about to come, we can open the heating system in advance, so as to achieve the purpose of real-time melting ice and snow. In order to solve the problems when using this method to melt snow and ice, the main research contents of this paper include the following aspects:(1)The structure of heating cable and relevant technical indexes of the heating cable are given a brief introduction. What’s more, based on the consideration of bridge construction and the heat efficiency, this paper identifies the buried location, layout and circuit of the heating cables initially.(2)The indoor experiments have been done, and the test specimens of the bridge pavement with heating cable are molded to test the feasibility of the system factors, melting ice and snow on heating uniformity and related effects. This will provide a strong support for the practical application.(3)Based on the basic theory of heat transfer, finite element method is used to study the heating body melting ice and snow temperature field distribution and the temperature rising law, and analyzes the influence degree of the relationship between temperature and heating cable burying system location, layout, heating cable temperature, environment temperature and different influence factors on surface temperature.(4)Aiming at the different pavement power, when the environment changes the deck surface can achieve real-time melting ice and snow on the time required to predict for the carbon fiber heating cable is used to provide the reference of snow pavement power, snow road ice melting time.
