With the development of economy and science technology in China, cars are quickly into the lives of ordinary people. Steering system as an important unit in the car, its performance will have a direct impact on vehicle operation stability and security. Therefore, the combination property of steering system depends largely on the testing machines’ accurate and efficient. But with the development of technology and the automobile industry standard upgrade, the new type testing bench has take the place of the traditional one to meet the needs of production.Based on the ZHL1 Final Test Bench of ZF Shanghai Steeting System Co., Ltd as the research object, this article researched and improved a production process system based on Profibus and Industrial Ethernet, achieved automatic testing, real-time monitoring and process data tracking function.The paper first introduces the background and significance of the research, describes the structure and working principle of the hydraulic power steering in detail. At the same time, combined with typical function testing and the actual requirements of process, the mechanical structure and hydraulic system of the testing machine has been analyzed.In the measuring and control system of testing equipments, the former is focus on the design of the overall framework of the measurement circuit and the selection of the hardware modules. The latter pays attention to the specific objects which are composed of IndraDrive input axis with servo control and rack output unit with proportional servo valve control, and studies the process of how to realize the accurate control positioning.On the design of the communication network, with the purpose of achieving decentralized control for centralized management,using two-layer communication networks. On equipment level, it can accomplish communication among the PLC and remote module by Profibus-DP. Especially in the appropriate design for hardware configuration and software programming, PLC can directly carry on the command control and data exchange from the IndraDrive station. On supervisory level, Industrial Ethernet will be divided into the local area network and computer network. In the local network, PLC, IPC station and HMI station are connected together via the switch, and accomplish communication according to the TCP/IP protocol. Meanwhile the new interface and function has been designed and optimized for the convenience of updating the network configuration and can effectively reduce the breakdown. In another network, the core switches and servers can completely meet the needs of enterprise SAP system access ports.Finally,make a summary on the testing machine and look forward to the development and application of Profinet.
