Block is the basic unit in ship building as the requirement of modern shipbuilding mode. During the building process, the block is suffered with not only the ground resource constraint, but also a lot of affecting factors. It is too hard to make an efficient working plan that closed to the actual operation. To improve the utilization of ground resource, the blocks’ space layout is optimized by improving the block spatial scheduling algorithm. In order to make the working plan close the actual one, the block building process and affecting factors are analyzed. Three adjustment strategies are put forward to realize the dynamic spatial scheduling. And a simulation model is built to simulate the ship block building dynamic spatial scheduling. The mainly research is as the following:(1) A hierarchical nesting spatial scheduling algorithm is proposed aiming at solving complex shape blocks production arrangement. The block spatial scheduling problem is divided into position searching and sequence optimization. The block’s optimum layout position in assembly and welding workshop is calculated by grid traversal algorithm and position screen. The sequence of blocks is optimized by using a priority-based and genetic algorithm.(2) The ship block building dynamic scheduling strategy is proposed. After studying primary affecting factors of different block building process, three dynamic adjustment strategies are developed, named block positioning delay, building progress control, waiting for swing. The realization flow and method of dynamic spatial scheduling is designed accord to block building process.(3) The math models of mainly affecting factors are studied. A simulation model including affecting factors and scheduling strategies, is built by process-oriented discrete event simulation technology. Through the model, the ship block building dynamic spatial scheduling is simulated under the influence of affecting factors. And the scheduling plan improving flow is designed.(4) At last, the ship block building dynamic spatial scheduling and simulation system is developed. The system can make working plan closed to actual one, evaluate and improve the scheduling plan. The simulation results indicate that the proposed methods and the system are effective and reliable.
