With the increasingly stringent emission regulations and the national requirements of energy saving, turbocharger technologies are widely used as an effective technology for energy saving and emission reduction measure. At present, most of the domestic passenger cars adopt gasoline engines as the power. In order toimprove the matching conditions between the gasoline and the turbocharger, a turbocharger with electric controllable valve(including a PWM Control Solenoid Valve and an Electronic control Bypass Valve) is used. It is different from the turbocharger with a discharge valve which is widely used for diesel engine. The control of the electronic controllable valve is integrated to the gasoline engine management system,so that the boost pressurecan be adjusted in whole working conditions of the gasoline engine. At the same time it can reduce compressor surge occurrence and guarantee the acceleration performance during the variable condition compared with the traditional boost pressure control system. This paper studiesthe matching control between the turbocharger with electronic controllable valves and gasoline engine. First, according to the performance requirements, a automatic test bench is developed for performance testing of the electric controllable valve and the performance data is detected by using the test bench. Then, based on the test data, this paper establish a co-simulation model which including a turbocharged engine system model in GT-Power and a control system model in Matlab/Simulink. In the end, On the basis of engine model, this paperget the best boost pressure and the control strategy of Boost Control Solenoid Valvein order to optimize economic performance on the gasoline external characteristic. Then a control model is built to verify the control strategy. In addition, use the co-simulation model, this paper also studies the principle on reducing surge occurrence or improving dynamic performance by using Electronic Bypass Valve when the gasoline engine working on the acceleration conditions or deceleration conditions.Studies in this paper shows that, compared with the turbocharger with a boost control waste gate, using turbocharger with electirc controllable valve can further improve the matching performance between the turbocharger and the gasoline engine by adopting corresponding control strategy, because it can adjust boost pressure across the whole engine working conditions. At the same time, adopting appropriate control strategies, Electronic Bypass Valve can effectively avoid compressor surge occurrence and improve dynamic response performance when the gasoline engine working on the acceleration conditions or deceleration conditions.
