The Research On Traditional Village Space Form Features And Protection Strategy Of Huizhou District

Traditional village is the external manifestation of Huizhou Culture. The formation of the traditional villages’ spatial form is composed of interaction between natural environment and humanistic environment. Local characteristics of the traditional villages are significant and traditional villages have profound culture. Previous studies about space form of Huizhou villages mainly focus on the village evolution, location, layout, landscape elements and space node, etc. However, the study about affecting factors of village space is less. Research perspective is narrow and research object is single. The research subject is the morphological characteristics of Huizhou traditional villages. Using relevant theories of urban and rural planning, geography, sociology, architectural typology and so on and making a systematic research about the evolution, types, landscape elements, space form of Huizhou traditional villages.The full text is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter is introduction, stating the background, status, object, purpose, significance, contents, methods and framework of the research. The second chapter discussed the evolution of Huizhou traditional villages and summarized the characteristics of each stage. The third chapter analyzed the effect of natural environment conditions and the feng shui on location, morphology and the landscape environment of Huizhou traditional villages from the perspective of the natural environment. The fourth chapter analyzed the effect of clan consciousness, farming society, traditional customs, Confucian thought and culture on location, street space, public space, architectural space and interior decoration of Huizhou traditional villages from the perspective of traditional culture and values. The fifth chapter analyzed the effect of the aesthetic, environmental pattern, color and intention on building space and space form of Huizhou traditional villages from the perspective of the Aesthetics. The sixth chapter summarized the features of space form of Huizhou traditional villages. The seventh chapter indicated the deficiency of protection for Huizhou traditional villages based on the above analysis and presented protection strategy.
