Following the fast development of economy in China, the increasingly sophisticated construction of public transportation, it is necessary to develop a well-designed bus smart query system, by means of which relevant manual expenses can be greatly relieved, and which benefits the masses who are unavoidably involved in the public transportation.In this paper, the author attempts to provide a tentative design of bus smart query system on the basis of refined graph theory. In the onset of the study, the bus line routes will be schematized and defined, for the convenience of investigation, as undirected multi-graph with gradual simplification in the later research. Then, a specific math modeling will be implemented for the issue of optimal transfer scenario which is generally considered as the sticking point for the present working system. Through the psychoanalysis on bus passengers, three main factors to which the choice of transporting line from passengers is imputed are pinned on transfer times, time duration and expenditure respectively. In the modeling, the problem of bus station query will be abstracted into a multi-constraint issue on shortest path, in which the constraints involved are the mentioned three main factors. Taken the efficiency of system operation, the specificity of transportation system itself and practical issues into consideration, a feasibly further-simplified and modified algorithm is used to carry out the optimal public transportation transfer, that is, the proposed three factors accounting for the preference of passengers are under simplification and conflation into only one single constraint, transfer times, to the algorithm. In light of the discussion above, the optimal transfer scenario of public transportation, the least times of transfer being the optimal, will be tentatively proposed.Based on the theoretical framework proposed, this paper investigates and develops an intelligent bus query system. This system is based on B/S structure with the application of asp.net dynamic website development technology. C# is taken as the programming language, and the development tool is Visual Studio 2008 integrated development environment. The database is developed by SQL Server 2005.The tests show the well-functioning of the system that can meet the requirement of the citizens for getting around.
