Monitoring System Design For Freeway Tunnel

The monitoring system of the freeway tunnel is to control the traffic and various units during daily operation, especially when emergent situation is encountered. This research is based on the project, development of tunnel monitoring system of Baomao freeway(Zhashui to Xiaohe section). Based on the tunnel construction and operation, the functions and logical traction of the freeway tunnel monitoring system was designed. The software, YUMA TUNNEL SYSTEM 2.0, was used for the upper units system. The control of sub-systems, including traffic monitoring, ventilation, lighting, fire alarm, and fire door, were also designed and successfully implemented in the operation. This system enables the real-time monitoring and control of the tunnel operation, dynamic control the traffic flow; reduces the rate of accident and traffic jam; optimizes the traffic flow and therefore improves the traffic capacity; enhance the ability of quick and accurate response in emergencies, such as traffic accidents, fire and other dangerous situation.The functions and stability of this system have been proved through the daily operation in recent years.
