Distribution system is important directly to vast consumer who is provided electrical energy in the power system. And the distribution automation and supervision system could realize the automation of normal operating and supervising, protecting, controlling and distribution of electricity which has important practical significance to improve power system reliability and economic efficiency. This paper taking Shaoguan smelter distribution system for study, developed an Integrated Distribution Network Monitoring System.First, the paper designs of the system in the form of the main distribution- sub-stations-remote terminal. And the station layer is connected by redundant fiber-optic Ethernet structure, and the sub-stations is connected to the main station by redundant fiber-optic ring network, and the devices control units by RS-485. The communications and controlling between the various stations is completed by the communications equipments.Second, the paper gives an introduction of the sub-station system structure. For the the factory plant sub-station, the paper connects the RTU in the form of RS-485, and meanwhile useing multi-threaded data collection method for a number of parallel bus acquisition, making the data completed a high-speed data gathered fast. For the other sub-station of Zhongpei system, this paper designs of the network structure and configuration software system, and decomposed monitoring system into many functional modules which are designed and completed individually. Meanwhile, The communication Protocol of IEC60870-5-101 power system statute is used for data communication.Then, the paper gives the design of the master station of 110kV substation. For the hardware, the paper does a detailed description and the principle of selection to the relay protection of the important equipment, and so the the security and stability of the power system is ensured. Then the paper describes the principles of the GPS and the application in the system, by which the time synchronization is realized. At last the dual server hot-standby and the realization is described which provide reliable service to the system. For the software of the system, in accordance with the distribution automation system functional requirements, the software platform of the distribution network integrated control system is completed, including console, real-time data display, application systems software, systems management and security module, with the function to complete a variety of real-time data display and fault alarm information dissemination, intelligence operation ticket management systems, large complex reporting systems, multi-function data query, as well as remote management capabilities to meet the needs of users, and equipped with security protection to ensure security system security and stability.At present the integrated distribution network monitoring system has been applied and the result indicated that the system is excellent in rapid collection, steady data transmission, friendly interface, simple operation and good expansibility. All of them can satisfy the run of the power system in Shaoguan smelt factory.
