Due to the production capacity and electrical power consumption increasing gradually year by year, the carbon emission of family cars has drawn much attention of the whole automotive industry and local governments. Although there’re many ways of emission eliminating and energy saving, such as lightening car body and controlling electrical power, they are almost approaching to the upper limit of,development considering the higher and higher requirements of the safety, reliability and comfort. As the main component in car power supply system, the transmission efficiency of mechanical power to electrical power is obviously another important factor.In general, the VDA(Verband Der Automobilindustrie) efficiency is around 60% to 70%. The research and study has been made on how to improve the efficiency over 10%.We make the research of electromagnetic parameter of alternator, through theoretical calculation, Orthogonal test, result comparison and analysis, to optimize the configuration and then to improve the VDA efficiency.The result not only offer the efficient estimation of the VDA research, but also reduce the repetitive task of experiment team, as well as improve the development of the new product.
