The development of computer science and communication technologies has provided the control system of weapon with plenty support. The extension of the function of the system can satisfy the requirement in real war. However, the complexity of the operate interface may bring operator errors and increase the burden of recognition. Because the reliability and usability directly influence the user’s operating efficiency and the safety, so it’s a topic that need to be valued and focus on.In this paper, based on the prior research and the function requirement of the operating system we design the interface with point of entry from human factor. Then the results are verified and refined based on cognition performance. Here are the research contents and achievement:Firstly, based on the analysis of the real war content and weapon system’s requirements in function and performance, the frame of the system and functional module are designed.Secondly, according the model set up for human’s information processing, the weapon’s particularity and design requirement are analyzed. Together with the theory in cognition psychology, the form of information coding are determined. Besides, cognition experiments are conducted, which evaluates the cognition performance of target at different location under multi-task.Thirdly, based on established theories and the concept of interface template, the frame and key elements of interface are arranged. The configuration of the distribution of the information are designed by using professional grading method. The final lay out is then determined and system refined.Then the training system is developed in Visual Basic and Access. By utilizing the simulation and recording function in this system, the combination of evaluation of prototype method and observation are used to verify our design. The design is further improved according to the experiment results.Finally, we use embedded operating system VxWorks as the platform, Tornado as the developing environment and WindML as developing tool to implement the interfaces and functions of the system.
