Ceramic roller bearing has good performance in high speed and light load, high temperature, corrosion and insulation condition.However, the polishing efficiency of ceramic roller is relatively low.Therefore,it is necessary to study on the method of improving the efficiency of ceramic roller polishing.Magnetorheological-ultrasonic compound finishing technology,which is comprised of chemistry,acoustics,electromagnetics,fluid dynamics,mechanics and other multidisciplinary comprehensive application,and it can guarantee the polishing efficiency and significantly improve the quality of the workpiece surface.In this paper, the technology is applied to the polishing process of Si3N4 ceramic roller and carried out a series of research,the main aspect of researching is as follows:1 The design of ultrasonic polishing system.According to the theory of ultrasonic machining and the specific requirements of polishing experiments,put forward the requirements for each component of ultrasonic polishing system,then carry on the selection and design calculation for each component;2 Study on the Water-based magnetorheological fluid.According to the characteristics of the Water-based magnetorheological fluid and the characteristics of Si3N4 material,to select each group of water-based magnetorheological fluid and developed appropriate preparation method;3 Study on the material removal mechanism of polishing process.Based on the traditional theories of material removal,according to the characteristics of Magnetorheological-ultrasonic compound finishing technology,by using the Preston equation to analyze the pressure of polishing area, and to establish the mathematical model of material removal;4 Study on the experimental research for polishing process of ceramic roller.Through a series of experiments of polishing process,to research the effect of processing parameters on the polishing material removal rate and surface roughness, then can get the optimum process parameters of polishing and qualified ceramic rollers finally.Through a series of research work,completed the design of ultrasonic polishing system,prepared the water-based magnetorheological fluid with excellent performance, studied the material removal mechanism of polishing process,then got the qualified ceramic rollers finally.
