In ADS(Accelerator Driven Sub-critical System) pilot projects, injector II is developed by Institution of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The high intense proton beams of injector carry very high energy up to 25 Me V, flow intensity up to 10 m A. When accelerator is running, some equipment failure may cause beam position offset, in order to protect critical equipment from being damaged by beam bombardment, the control system needs to provide fast chain protection devices. During beam operation, only timely access to information of beam energy and position, and take measures effectively in the event of abnormal condition, can we avoid accidents and reduce the damage. Hence we need to develop a fast controller to protect the accelerator devices. Fast protection system based on the controller will have short response time less than 10μs, counting from the failure signal is probed to protect instructions is issued. The controller should also have log function.Based on advanced FPGA chip and high-speed fiber optic network technology, we designed the architecture and hardware terminals of the fast protection system. This article focus on the design procedure of controller based on FPGA and high-speed fiber network technology. Finally we tested the real-time and reliability technical indicators, the results show that the controller hardware circuit board indicators meet the design requirements, the controller can be achieved the accelerator field device security chain protection, the response time of the system meet the requirement of the physics researchers.
