Nowadays, the city is ever-changing, urban public space is increasingly important for people’s daily lives. City provides us with a suitable living environment, and public facilities not only facilitate our work, study, live and communicate, but also make the city’s environment has been landscaping and improvements. This study was based on the Islamic cultural elements of public facilities design, blend regional cultural elements into the design of public facilities, which reflects its culture, particularity, diversity, coordinate the relationship between the humans, public facilities and environment, and help humans live in harmony with nature, living and learning in a safe and efficient, healthy and comfortable environment, while promoting local cultural characteristics.In this paper, I have in-depth study of the public facility design elements and Islamic culture, and discussed their present situation of development, future development and design methods, while providing suggestions for improve and develop the design of public facilities. Public facilities design based on Islamic culture elements, help clarify the relationship between design and culture, and to raise awareness of public facilities to serve the local people, public facilities contain the local culture. Otherwise, public facilities related to people’s daily lives are convenient and comfortable or not, for the surrounding environment and the ecological environment have which impact. The design should take full account of its functionality, rationality, comfort, sustainability and so on. At the same time, this study helps designers establish local design concept, providing a systematic design approach, conducive to China’s urban public facilities construction, can use as a source of reference.
