In many important aspects of traditional intelligent building technology, there are no systematic theory as a support. A significant manifestations is that core components of different building control systems can not interact and communicate with each other, that is to say, the building control systems have a bad ability of openness. The BACnet protocol is a standard protocol of building automation and control network, it is based on computer network open system interconnection reference model, and defines the architecture of BACnet protocol, solving the problem of openness in the traditional building control system.DDC(Direct Digital Control)can connect different kinds of networks, and process the information gathering form external sensor or network. Then it can response and accomplish the control of devices in the system. With the widespread application of the intelligent building system, the demand of DDC is increasing.On the basis of the detailed study of BACnet standard, this paper designs the intelligent building DDC based on the BACnet protocol by redeveloping the protocol stack. The design implements a DDC of intelligent building which can be identified by any standard BACnet network.This paper designs and tests the applications for DDC using the BACnet/IP interconnection technique, including the client applications and the server applications. Using the applications the paper designs client can control the server device through the network. The paper also designs the hardware parts on Zed Board, including the IP core of GPIO based on FPGA, the configuration of analog and digital devices, and the setup of the hardware platform. Then it accomplishes the drivers of hardware on this basis. In the whole testing system which this paper setups, the server operates on the Lunix system, and the client operates on PC, all the tests about functions and the consistency carries on this system.This paper designs a DDC based on BACnet communication standard protocol, solving problems about the openness in the the traditional building control system. After testing the system, the design could satisfy with the requirement of the Conformance Requirements of the BACnet protocol, and transmission process conforms to the BACnet protocol specification, the DDC can be identifies by the standard BACnet network. On the Zed Board board this paper designs a simple model of DDC, implements the control and detection of the digital and analog devices, meeting the basic requirements of intelligent building DDC.
