In the highly competitive world of commodities, product color image has become one of the major factor on which the consumers decide whether or not to buy and use. Therefore,the designers need to evaluate the feeling characteristics and symbolic meanings of the products. Based on the Japanese PCCS analysis of product color matching theory, this paper studies on such issues as the ambiguity and uncertainty of the expression of the color image matching. Meanwhile, regression model of perceptive color image is formulated based on the color properties and color psychology.Representative color perceptive image vocabulary and color samples are selected using the Japanese PCCS color solid tube theory, and by statistical analysis methods of multi-dimensional scale, clustering analysis, etc. Based on a representative number of the selected vocabulary and samples, semantic difference experiment is carried out according to the tested consumers’ subjective evaluation on monochrome color, so as to obtain objective parameter and a quantitative value of subjective evaluation.Multiple regression model of monochrome color solid cube and semantic information color image is established, based on the parameter of color element value and product color subjective assessment value, mapping relationship between color element and color perceptual image is arrived at also. Statistic analysis is used to test and verify the experiment, to analyze the reliability of the model, and to analyze the regular pattern of single factor and interaction affects of color element on perceptual image vocabulary.Based on color blending theory and orthogonal design ideology, representative matching samples are obtained through rational selection among the many influential factors during the process of color matching. Assessment magnitude of perceptive characteristic is acquired through clustering analysis on the vocabulary of PCCS color image dimensional chart. Color image tests are conducted using SD method, to establish perceptive value chart and two-tone color image regression model, and to verify the reliability of the model.
