Study On Reuse Of Taiwan Industrial Heritage Towards Cultural And Creative Industry

Industrial heritage is the symbol of urban development and industrial civilization, is worthy of attention as material and non-material cultural heritage. Industrial heritage reuse draws the attention of more and more city in the world. With economic development, industrial upgrading, the cultural creative industry is rapidly rising, bringing new power for urban renewal. Because of the highly adaptability between cultural creative industry and industrial heritage, cultural creative industry oriented industrial heritage reuse become the first choice of more and more industrial heritage updating.The protect and reuse of industrial heritage in Taiwan started early with rich practical experience. regioning from the policy guidance, social cognition, diversified development mode, Taiwan renews industrial heritage combined with cultural creative industry upgrading. These new culture creative places not only provide the city with cultural creation and infiltration platform, but also provide a new life for the industrial heritage, which promote urban renewal a lot. The purpose of this paper is to study the updating for cultural creative industries in Taiwan, including researches to the policy guidance, social cognition, flexible diversified development and operating mode, and respecting history, etc. Hope this paper can provides a broader thinking for the mainland culture creative industrial heritage reuse.This paper is divided into six chapters: the first chapter claims the research background and related concept definition, studies the development, related research and practice at home and abroad, builds the standard research methods and research framework. The second and third chapter analyses Taiwan’s industrial heritage reuse and the development, policy background and current situation of cultural creativity industry, and the motivation of their combination, and classifies the type of combination from different angles. The fourth chapter sorts out 10 investigation cases added with the author’s personal feeling, emphatically analyzes its background, current situation, the material and non-material value, development mode and reuse strategy, sorts out its reuse method and content. The fifth chapter summarizes oriented design process of industrial heritage reuse, including value criterion, function, space, the relationship between the old and new, landscape and the user relationship. The sixth chapter reflects on the problems of industrial heritage reuse in Chinese mainland, contrasts similarities and differences between Taiwan area and mainland area in this aspect, summarized some experience and revelation of industrial heritage reuse in combination with cultural creative industry.
