The works of two gears automatic transmission are text-based principles of simple planetary gear shift mechanism. By adjusting the movement between the sun gear, ring gear and carrier of these three basic pieces, it can achieve variable speed. According to the research and development of two gears box, we designed a new type of shift actuator, it is consist of electro-hydraulic control system, brake and clutch. Through this set of shift actuator, it not only can achieve power shift, the time of shift also can be shorten and increase the comfort of the shifting process. According to the study involved in this paper, the following research contents are carried out:Firstly, according to requirements of research and comparative analysis of scheme, we initially determine the basic structure of the two gear automatic transmission. An example is given to explain the structure and the mechanism of the two gear automatic transmission. We need to determine the preferences of important components, calculate the strength of this components and identify the model of components which we need to purchase.Secondly, use the finite element software to analyze parts which work under complex conditions, and optimize its structure. In the first place, analyze the housing of two gears box, and determine the number and the size of load applied to the housing. Hyperworks is used to analyze static and dynamic of housing. According to the simulation results, Optistruct software is used to achieve topology optimization of the housing. In the second place, this paper also analyze the strength of gear which works under complicated working condition and achieve toplogy optimization of this gear.Thirdly, considering parameters and performance requirements of the benchmark car, formulate the shift schedule based on dynamic and economy. This shift schedule is based on the size of the accelerator pedal position, considering the influence of power and economy.according to the internal structure of two gear box, establish its shifting dynamics model and analyze the factors of affecting the process of shifting. Based on the results of this analysis, optimize shift quality. By Matlab / Simulink, build powertrain simulation model of this two gear box and verify the result of shift quality.Finally, by building transmission bench, test and verify the performance of two gear box,observe the shifting process, and by data processing, compare the experimental results with the simulation results.
