As air pollution in urban area is getting serious, drivers are suffering severe physical health threat from weather like haze, sandstorm, etc. In addition, contaminants produced by air-conditioners and decoration materials inside vehicle is worsening air pollution in cars, which will discomfort drivers after long-time driving, leading to potential accidents.To improve air quality in car and provide comfortable environment for driving and riding, this paper has researched and designed a car air purification system based on Bluetooth Low Energy technology, which is consist of a car air purifier, a mobile client and a cloud-based server. To achieve the wireless communication between car air purifier and mobile client, the paper starts with the study on BLE technology and the analysis on anti-interference design of BLE communication. Secondly, a three-layer system and an expansible wireless communication plan are designed, aiming at the functional requirements of air purification, air quality parameters collection, and wireless control. Then a four-layer wireless communication protocol, which is based on BLE protocol stack, is put forward, aiming at the system features of changeable requirements, various service types and high energy-saving demand. On account of the system and wireless communication plan, the final part is to describe the design and implementation methods of both hardware and software parts of car air purifier, and to introduce the implementation of wireless communication protocol.Compared to traditional car air purifiers, on the one hand, this car air purification system has achieved the detection of air purification and air quality parameters with higher efficiency and better energy saving, on the other hand, it also has built wireless communication between mobile client and car air purifier by applying BLE technology, leading to an intelligent solution that mobile client makes decisions and air purifier executes. Moreover, based on transparent data base that uses mobile client as medium, we can build Internet platform of atmospheric environment analysis and provide service by Internet of Vehicles. The car air purification system researched and designed in this paper is functioned by purifying, detecting and wireless communicating, and is characterized by practicability and commercial value.
