Metal detector is an instrument that used to detect and probe the metal. Common metal detectors have beat frequency oscillator metal detector, pulse induction metal detector and very low frequency metal detector. This is a paper that design and study a metal detector work on the very low frequency.The metal detector work on very low frequent generates a magnetic field, because of the eddy current effect the probe target will generate a magnetic field, our metal detector will probe this magnetic field, and through the internal circuit in the metal detector we get the signal and deal with it. The connection between mobile terminals and metal detectors through the low-power Bluetooth with a stable communicate protocol that we designed ourselves, and on the mobile terminal we deal with the signal further, finish the goal that distinguish the different metal. At the same time we can set the metal detector parameter through the mobile terminals.First, this paper described and analyzed the development stages of mental detector. Second, we discuss the basic principle of decomposition and how the metal detectors deal with the detection of the signal. Last, we discuss the low-power Bluetooth and how to build a stable communication protocol. The last chapter shows the software on the mobile terminal display.
