Pedestrian Crossing Signal Intersection Safety Evaluation Technology Research

As the vulnerable groups in traffic participants, Pedestrian has a rising rates of traffic accidents.The conflict between pedestrian and vehicle become deeper and deeper,so more and more traffic managers and researchers pay more attention to pedestrian crossing traffic.Based on the solid theoretical analysis and research, and the actual investigation and analysis of pedestrian traffic characteristics at signalized intersections, this article aims to set up a safety assessment system, which is suitable for pedestrian crossing at signalized intersection. Therefore the excellent transportional environmental of signalized intersection is guaranteed and the safety and efficiency of pedestrian crossing are increased.Firstly, in order to get the influence factor model of illegal rate, the pedestrian traffic behavior data in Nankai District, Hongqiao District, Heping District, Hebei District of Tianjin were obtained by video and questionnaire surveys, and traffic characteristics and behavioral characteristics of pedestrian crossing were summarized.Secondly, on the basis of the characteristics of pedestrian crossing traffic signal control intersection, and also the "pedestrians-traffic safety evaluation index-traffic behavior demand" research, pedestrian safety evaluation model was built and the safety evaluation grade of pedestrian crossing was determined, in which the fuzzy measure theory of pedestrian crossing safety evaluation methods were used. To determine the security level of the sample, the safe evaluation function is need to be developed and then the fuzzy integral is need to be calculated based on eighteen evaluated indexes. The eighteen evaluated indexed are sex and age, educational level, social status, income level, personalities, traffic safety education level, traffic safety awareness level, awareness level of traffic laws, the ability to control weakly, the ability to judge weakly, traffic conflict, influences by others, influences by theirselves, influences by weather, influences by environment, awareness level of behavior, the regret extent of behavior, and the ability to control behavior.Finally, the difference of intersection traffic environment will directly lead to the psychological change of pedestrians. So the reasonable pedestrian traffic facilities design is not only convenient for pedestrians, but also guarantying the safety of pedestrians crossing. Through the analysis of the time cost of pedestrians crossing, the utilization rate of facilities and traffic behavior, combined with safety evaluation model, the pedestrian crossing improvement action plan is developed and verified by the fuzzy measure theory.-IV-...
