Mechanism Of Pedestrian Overcrossing Behavior In The Intersection And Research On Traffic Control Technology

Intersection is the bottleneck of city road, which traffic condition is complicated,especially the mutual interference of pedestrian crossing traffic and vehicle, which is aproblem troubling with traffic control and management of intersection. Conflictsbetween pedestrians and vehicles lead to the increases of intersection delay and thedecline of capacity and safety degree. In most city of our country, the road crossingpedestrians are one of the main causes of intersection traffic chaos, security hiddendanger, low traffic efficiency. Pedestrian violation may interfere with the normaltraffic in motor vehicle running status, which cause running status of intersection intothe vicious spiral “disorder-poor security and inefficient-extended signal cycle-pedestrian traffic increase-order more confusion”. Based on the Hefei variousintersections pedestrian overcrossing behavior survey data, we analyze the mainintersections which impact pedestrian illegally pass signal intersections, and analyzethe relationship between these factors and choice behavior, then establish relatedmodel.The main contents of this paper are summarized in the following aspects:1) Characteristics of pedestrian overcrossing behavior intersection: research onpedestrian behavior is the analysis combining the behavior of people with theircorresponding environment, contacting human, vehicle, road with environmenttogether, and getting comprehensive evaluation pedestrian overcrossing trafficcharacteristics.2) Pedestrians illegal influence factors and the model: based on the survey data ofHefei all kinds of intersection pedestrian overcrossing behavior, we analyze the mainfactor of affecting pedestrian illegal by signal intersection, and analyze therelationship between these factors and choice behavior. Select the disaggregate modelfor quantitative description and analysis of this relationship. We establish thepedestrian crossing relationship model based on pedestrian characteristics andintersection characteristics, study the influence of the different pedestriancharacteristics and the physical properties of intersection to pedestrian overcrossingbehavior.3) Factors on pedestrian illegal sensitivity analysis: through data collection andgroup discussion, the influence factors on the pedestrian crossing behaviors wereanalyzed and selected, and we drafted the sample table, do on-site survey, combinedwith experiment data, analyzed effects of various factors on the pedestrian crossing at the intersection of behavior.4) Intersection traffic control technology which can reduce pedestrian illegal action:by quantitative theory analysis and qualitative analysis of experimental data, with theresults of the analysis we put forward the improvement suggestions in order to reduceillegal behavior of pedestrians on the crossing of intersection control technology.
