At present, advanced digital measuring equipment is widely used in the inspection of aircraft skin by most of the aviation manufacturing enterprises, and the traditional inspection methods which rely on mould line and template are being replaced.The precision and efficiency of aircraft skin inspection can be greatly improved by digital measuring equipment, however, the use of digital measuring equipments in the inspection of aircraft skin are still in its infancy and lack of corresponding study. General measurement mode of digital measuring equipment by manual has two weaknesses: one is lack of a unified measurement standard and process which resulted in low efficiency, the other is the low degree automation. In order to solve those problems, the features of aircraft skin have been taken as research objects and an automatic inspection technology of aircraft skin features based on laser radar has been studied in this paper. By extracting and scattering features of aircraft skin, guiding laser radar automatic measure features and processing measurement data, the automatic inspection of aircraft skin has been completed. The main research contents are as follows:1) The study objects are established by dissussing the various featrues of aircraft skin and proposed extraction and scatter methods of the inspection feature.2)The principle and method of creation measurment based on laser radar automatic measurment is studied, discussed characteristics of laser radar various measurement modes and selected corresponding measurement mode for features automation measure, designed automatic measurement methods and processes of aircraft skin features.3) The algorithm for the measurement data reduction and noise processing is studied and verified the efficiency of denosing algorithm, researched the methods of extracting featrues from inspection dates including the surface and profile key data extraction and validited the feature extraction algorithm.4)Based on the above theoretical studies, an aircraft skin automatic inspection software is developed which achieved the extraction and scattered of aircraft skin features, creation measurement base, automatic measurement, denoising and extract features from measurement points, generate inspection reports, etc.The application shows that the software can meet the demands and improve the efficiency of digital measurement.
