Along with the social development, various types of high-rise building structure and complex forms appear constantly, in the face of such developing trend, the seismic design of high-rise building is not only the bearing capacity of fortification design traditionally, but also need more sophisticated design based on the performance.The earthquake dynamic time history analysis based on the whole process can more truly reflect the seismic response of the structure, which can determine the weak parts of structure more accurate and in detail, received more and more attention in the engineering design. At the same time, such as ABAQUS, ANSYS software provides the sub-model technique which can be analyzed separately in more detailed meshing by select key research areas from the rough grid global model. Use sub-model technique can analysis the detailed meshing focus area in a low computation time, which let the engineers run the time history analysis by using a small microcomputer.Under this background, the thesis the author firstly introduces the software of ABAQUS time history analysis of the main technical points of the various considerations and sub-model technology, emphasis on the realization of the sub-model technique based on node. Then respectively established the global model and sub-model of a large base- high tower structureThen, run the elastic time history analysis of a large base-high tower structure under commonly met earthquake. Compare the displacement value, interlayer displacement Angle and base shear, integral point stress from several aspects, and cloud computing cost of the global model and sub-model. Verify the reliability of the sub-model technique and economy.Finally run elastic-plastic time history analysis under rarely met earthquake by using the sub-model technology, Evaluate the results of the analysis from two aspects of structure and component performance, obtained the whole process of the plastic development structure. Judge large basehigh tower structure model built in this paper won’t fall down in 7 degrees under 0.1 g the rarely met earthquake,it can continue to use after repair.
