The flapping-wing micro air vehicle(FMAV) is one kind of aircraft imitating flying birds or insects. Compared with the normal vehicle, FMAV has a lot of advantages, such as smaller volume, lighter quality, smarter and so on. In both military fields and civil fields, FMAV has inviting application prospect. This paper will develop a flapping-wing mechanism which can realize both the flutter and the torsion function.A flapping-wing micro air vehicle with two or three degrees of freedom flapping-wing structure can be highly bionic and has good aerodynamic performance. Through the analysis and improvement of the existing structures, the single-crank and double-rocker flapping-wing structure and the spatial crank and rocker flapping-wing structure, combined with the reality of the flight of birds, a flapping-wing structure which can realize both the flutter and torsion function is designed. The kinematics simulation is done to verify the effectiveness of the flapping-wing mechanism.This paper studies the aerodynamic characteristics of the wing with different flapping attitude by the way of using the computational fluid dynamics method. This topic obtains the torsion angle when the lift and thrust of the wings is best and determines the kinematic parameters of the mechanism. Through the overall design, component size design and components selection of the flapping-wing, this paper carries out a complete air vehicle prototype.A platform for load is constructed to do the lift and thrust experiment for the prototype. Experimental results validated that the prototype has better aerodynamic characteristics compared with one-dimensional flapping-wing structure.On one hand, this study enriches the connotation of multiple degrees of freedom flapping-wing mechanism, and provides a reference for the follow-up of the flapping-wing air vehicle research; On the other hand, this study deepens the understanding of the aerodynamics of flapping-wing mechanism, and helps to design flapping-wing air vehicle which has better aerodynamic characteristics. So, this study has a certain theoretical and practical significance.
