Large-scale boiler can improve the utilization efficiency of energy and reduce pollutant emission. Recently, a boiler with larger capacity and higher parameter has become the developing trend of thermal power industry. Air pre-heater is the most important auxiliary engine of boiler. It plays a vital role in promoting energy using efficiency and cutting down pollutant. For the rapid developing of thermal power industry, boiler with super type has been accepted by industry. And the super type air-heater has been applied in practice gradually. The original structural style of air-heater is no longer suitable for recent developing of thermal power industry and new type air-heater will become the main research subject. Rotary air-heater is mainly made up of girder in cold end, center truss in hot end, center cylinder and model fan bin. The girder in cold end undertakes most load from upside. The center truss in hot end, center cylinder and model fan bin have an direct influence on air leakage rate of air-heater. Based on the structural form of a boiler’s large type rotary air-heater in Harbin, three new structures which apply to super scale rotary air-heater are created. The paper mainly used with theoretical calculation and finite element simulation doing some researches on each part of rotary air-heater. The main research works are as follows:(1) Air preheater cold end beam is designed and their strength and rigidity are calculated as well. Finite element analysis software ANSYS is used to analyze and compare with the theoretical calculation.(2) The structure of bearing support which is the main bearing components of the cold end beam is designed. The strength and stability of the bearing support are calculated. The connection of bearing support is designed and calculated as well.(3) Air preheater hot end beam finite element model is established by finite element analysis software ANSYS and the deformation of air preheater hot end beam at different temperatures is analyzed.(4) The strength of the leading end of the shaft and the center tube cylinder pin which are the main bearing components of preheater center tube is calculated. The whole preheater central tube is simulated and analyzed by finite element analysis software ANSYS.
